The Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers
had a long travel day
from Arizona to Santa Rosa, New Mexico
- and took some interesting photos

Below: Shortly after entering
New Mexico, heading east from Arizona on Route 40, the two RV Gypsies
passed a Continental Divide sign and Karen Duquette quickly snapped
a photo from the window of the moving RV. This was the 13th time she
managed to photograph a Continental Divide sign. But Lee and Karen Duquette
have driven by many other Continental Divide signs that Karen could
not photograph because they suddenly came into view as they drove around
a corner, and they could not slow down or stop. Many times thing prevent
Lee Duquette from stopping so Karen can get a photo - no room to stop
a big RV, being on a highway, too much traffic, etc. etc. |

did a lot of driving on Route 66 during this trip, and stopped to explore
parts of Route 66 in several USA states, but sometimes Karen Duquette
just gets a quick picture of signs, things, or places as Lee Duquette
drives by them. There is not always a place to stop in a 40-foot RV. |

Below: A driver
cut in front of the RV when there really was NOT ample room. Lee and
Karen Duquette are thankful that they were able to slow down.
The driver of a big RV (or even a big truck) can NOT just slam on the
brakes or swerve like a car can.
Luckily, Lee Duquette realized the car was cutting in and avoided
a disaster. This is posted as a reminder to drivers to PLEASE DO NOT
cut in front of an RV or bus or even a big semi-truck, plus this is
NOT the first time it has happened. |
